The Partnership objectives

The four general objectives of the Partnership which the European Commission shares with the Council of Europe are
  1. Citizenship, participation, human rights education and intercultural dialogue
  • To make young people and multipliers aware of human rights and the common values European and democratic citizens share and to provide them with the skills and tools to participate actively and to enhance their activities in this context.
  • To support participation and cooperation in the field of youth work and to foster intercultural dialogue and inter-regional cooperation with a focus on the cooperation in the Euro-Med region, South East Europe, Eastern Europe and Caucasus.
  1. Social cohesion, inclusion and equal opportunitiesyoung_people7
  • To strengthen social cohesion and solidarity especially of young people and to make young people, youth workers and youth leaders aware of the social dimension and its values in our European societies
  • To foster equal opportunities for all, especially for those at risk of exclusion by providing exchange of knowledge and practice and by supporting the development of a sense of solidarity.
  1. Recognition, quality and visibility of youth work and training
  • To train youth workers and youth leaders as well as other multipliers in the youth field, as well as to develop and consolidate innovative training approaches in this context and to sustain and widen existing networks of youth workers and youth leaders.
  • To contribute to the recognition of non-formal learning and to foster visibility of youth work with a view to further increase youth work’s positive impact on young people’s personal development, their involvement in society and increased employability.
  1. Better understanding and knowledge of youth and youth policy development
  • To provide a framework for co-operation as concerns the better understanding and knowledge of youth by identifying and updating existing knowledge, by collecting relevant data and information and by organising networks.
  • To contribute to the further development of youth work and youth policy by promoting exchanges, dialogue and networks and to strengthen youth policy development at European level with the aim to foster evidence-based youth policies.
